Decision Making in Avalanche TerrainThe Level I is a 3-day (24-educational hour) introduction to avalanche hazard management. We offer two types of courses: Classroom-based and Hut-based. These courses are the standard for the winter recreationist and forms the foundation for the aspiring professional.
Prerequisites: You must have the ability to travel in winter backcountry terrain. Telemark/AT Skis or Split Snowboard with skins is preferred equipment. Snowshoes will work too. AIARE Level 1 CourseThis course spans three eight-hour days (8:30 am – 4:30 pm) held usually over a three day weekend at our Field Office at Three Creeks Sno Park.
